Florence has a historic core, and that changes the questions
The Town of Florence was founded in 1866 and is the Pinal County seat. Its town history page describes the historic downtown as a National Historic District, and the National Park Service record for the Florence Townsite Historic District (National Register reference 82001623, 1982) gives its boundaries as roughly 3rd and Florence Streets, Butte and Central Avenues and the Chase/Ruggles Ditch. If your building is inside or near that area, an old wall may not behave like drywall.
Adobe, brick and lime plaster can respond to prolonged moisture very differently from drywall, so the drying plan may differ from a modern house. Tell the company the building's age, what the walls are made of and which parts are original, then ask how it would check and dry them.
What happens when you call
You call the number
Dial (520) 341-1086, day or night. Your call is routed to an independent restoration company that may serve your ZIP code.
Describe what happened
Tell them where the water came from, which rooms are affected, and whether it is safe to go inside.
Decide on next steps
Ask about availability, assessment charges and the proposed work. Verify license and insurance before you approve anything.
Check with the Town before original material comes out
The Town's historic preservation programs and guidance page says design review exists so that changes to historic buildings fit the character of the historic neighborhoods and downtown, and it points to design guidelines for anyone seeking a building permit within the district. A water loss does not cancel that process. Before plaster, floors, trim or walls are demolished, ask the company what it plans to remove and why, then ask the Town whether a permit or design review applies to your address. Photograph original features first, because your insurer may later ask what was there.

Call (520) 341-1086The Gila River, the washes and the road home
The Town's history page calls the Gila River a prominent landmark that runs through historic Florence, with the historic downtown on the south side of the river. It also names Highway 287, Highway 79 and Hunt Highway as the three corridors through town, which matters when a storm closes one. Pinal County's flood safety guidance says six inches of fast-moving water can knock down an adult and urges drivers to turn around rather than cross flowing water or go around barricades, and National Weather Service Phoenix issues the flash flood warnings.
Living near a river or wash is not a diagnosis. Say what you actually saw: water under a door, through a ceiling, from a fixture or up through a garage floor.
Newer Florence homes are a different job
The Town describes steady growth, with more than 200 new homes a year in recent years. A newer slab-on-grade house with drywall and engineered flooring is a different job from a 1900s adobe, so say which one yours is. For modern construction, the stages in our guide to water mitigation in Casa Grande apply closely: remove what cannot dry, then dry what can stay.
A short script for the first call
- The construction: adobe, brick, wood frame or stucco over block, and the year if you know it.
- Where the water first appeared and whether the source is still running.
- Whether the building is in the historic district or has original plaster, floors or trim you want protected.
- Which rooms were touched, plus any ceiling or wall that looks swollen.
- Whether someone can meet the company at the property and whether the power is safe to use.

Call (520) 341-1086Safety first, then extraction and drying
Stay out of rooms where water touches outlets or cords, and do not touch the breaker panel while standing in water. Keep children and pets away from outdoor water, and call 911 if anyone is in danger. The American Red Cross flood safety page covers safe re-entry. Once the area is safe, the work is usually extraction first, then drying as described under structural drying in Casa Grande. Outdoor water belongs under flood cleanup in Casa Grande.
Charges, records and where to go next
Before you agree to anything, ask what the visit costs, who will attend and how moisture readings will be shared. Get approvals in writing and check the contractor's license and insurance yourself. Our Arizona water damage insurance guide covers record keeping, though only your insurer can speak to coverage.
Fire damage is a secondary service, and mold availability in Florence is not confirmed by this site, so raise both on the call. Neighbors to the west are Coolidge and, farther on, Stanfield and Maricopa; the areas list shows the rest, and the Contact page explains the call.
