Start documenting before anything is moved
The most useful evidence is what the damage looked like before cleanup began. As soon as it is safe:
- Take wide photos of each affected room, then close-ups of the water line, stains, swollen materials and damaged belongings.
- Record a short video walking through the area while describing what you see.
- Photograph the source if visible: the failed supply line, the water heater, the ceiling leak.
- Write down the date and time you discovered the damage and anything you know about when it started.
- Keep failed parts a plumber removes; your adjuster may want to see them.
What happens when you call
You call the number
Dial (520) 341-1086, day or night. Your call is routed to an independent restoration company that may serve your ZIP code.
Describe what happened
Tell them where the water came from, which rooms are affected, and whether it is safe to go inside.
Decide on next steps
Ask about availability, assessment charges and the proposed work. Verify license and insurance before you approve anything.
Prevent further damage, and keep receipts
Most policies expect the homeowner to take reasonable steps to stop damage from getting worse. That usually means shutting off the water and arranging prompt mitigation, such as water removal in Casa Grande and water mitigation in Casa Grande. Keep receipts for everything: towels, fans, emergency plumbing, hotel stays and meals if you cannot stay at home. Ask any restoration company for its photos, moisture readings and an itemized scope.

Call (520) 341-1086Call your insurer early
Report the loss as soon as practical. Have your policy number ready and describe what happened in plain terms. Ask:
- Is this type of water damage covered under my policy?
- What is my deductible?
- Will an adjuster inspect, and when?
- Do you need approval before mitigation or removal of materials begins?
- Does my policy include additional living expenses if I need to move out?
Write down the claim number, the name of everyone you speak with, and the date of each call.
Water damage versus flood
This distinction surprises many Arizona homeowners. Standard homeowners policies typically cover sudden and accidental water damage, such as a burst pipe or appliance failure. They often exclude damage from a slow, long-term leak and almost always exclude flood, meaning surface water from outside entering the home, such as monsoon runoff. Flood coverage usually requires a separate flood insurance policy. FEMA FloodSmart explains what flood policies cover, waiting periods and how to file. If storm water entered your home, our flood cleanup in Casa Grande guide covers safety and cleanup questions.
Make a contents list
List damaged belongings room by room with an approximate age and value, and keep photos of each item. Do not throw away damaged items until your adjuster says it is fine, unless they pose a health risk; photograph them first. The American Red Cross flood safety guidance also suggests keeping important documents in a waterproof container for future emergencies.

This website connects callers with independent restoration companies. It does not file claims, negotiate with insurers, give legal advice or guarantee that any claim will be approved or paid. Only your insurer can explain your coverage. The City of Casa Grande publishes local resident information that may help with permits if repairs are needed.

Common questions
Does homeowners insurance cover water damage in Arizona?
Many standard homeowners policies cover sudden and accidental water damage, such as a burst pipe or an appliance failure. They often exclude damage from a slow, long-term leak and usually exclude flooding from outside. What is covered depends on your policy, so only your insurer can confirm it.
Should I call my insurance company or a restoration company first?
Stop the water and make the area safe first. Then many homeowners call both early: the insurer to report the loss, and a restoration company to limit further damage. Ask your insurer whether it needs approval before materials are removed.
Does homeowners insurance cover flood damage in Arizona?
Standard homeowners policies usually exclude flooding from outside. Flood coverage generally requires a separate flood insurance policy. FEMA FloodSmart explains the options.
What photos should I take for a water damage claim?
Wide shots of every affected room, close-ups of the water line and damaged materials, the source of the leak and each damaged item, all before cleanup begins.
